The Alumim Experience

Begin your Jewish leadership journey this summer by joining Alumim! There’s no better way to get ready for starting high school than spending your summer in a Jewish teen-only summer camp. Our Alumim teens learn about cooperative living and shared responsibility through living in a bunk with 11-15 other teens. Through our program, Alumim teens will use Jewish memory and experience to build Jewish identity today. Alumim participants also get all the expected fun of camp through regularly visiting our activity areas, bunk activities, our electives program, and campwide events.

Register for Alumim and join the Tel Yehudah and Young Judaea tradition of Jewish Leadership!

Program Features

Alumim campers will:

  • Meet and live with other Jewish teens from around the US and world;
  • Experience camp’s activity areas (link to “activity areas”) and special days (link to “special days”)
  • Uncover the basic principles of Jewish Leadership;
  • Spend a day having fun and exploring Philadelphia;
  • Participate in a challenging and rewarding two day tiyul (hike) and campout; and
  • Raft down the Delaware River!
Trip Highlights

The Alumim trip takes our teens through the depths of untouched wilderness to the hustle and bustle of one of America’s largest cities. Over the four day adventure, teens will learn about themselves, Jewish history and nature while forming meaningful friendships and having fun!

  • See the sights and sounds of Philadelphia and visit the National Museum of Jewish American History
  • Go on a 2-day tiyul (hike) through a state park, including two nights of camping out under the stars
  • Spend a day rafting down the Delaware River
Sample Alumim Seder Yom (Daily Schedule)

Between trips and out-of-camp adventures (link to “trips and adventures”), special days (link to “special days”) and Shabbat (link to “Shabbat at TY”), a “typical day” at TY is not so typical. But this is what a “day in the life” of Alumim might look like:
