The Havurah Experience

Havurah is the only program of its kind in the United States, which brings teens from Russian-speaking families from across the country and the world and strengthens their Russian-Jewish identity, culture, and heritage and allows them to build a community. For most participants in our program this is the first time that they are surrounded by 100 teens who come from so many different cities and yet they all have a shared background in common. And most amazingly, they are guided and mentored by bright and passionate young adults who also share that background with them. Camp Tel Yehudah is the perfect environment for teens to be in a balanced environment that allows them to focus on their Russian-Jewish background, while being a part of the greater Jewish community in North America.

Havurah had its inaugural session in 2009. Havurah receives generous support from the Genesis Philanthropy Group, the Foundation for Jewish Camp, and the Jewish Agency for Israel.

Dates: July 24 – August 17, 2017
Cost: 2 week session – $2,225 and 3.5 week session – $4,450 (grants are available for all campers)
For: Jewish teens who are in 8th-11th grades as of Fall 2017 from Russian-speaking families.
