From Sprout Lake to Tel Yehudah

Hi! I am a first time camper at Tel Yehudah. I went to Camp Sprout Lake for 2 years. I am not going to write all of this about me though. I am going to tell you how amazing Tel Yehudah is, and I won’t lie. There is no such thing as perfect, perfect is impossible. Well, guess what? TY just did the impossible. Or at least, it’s pretty close.

First off, the feeling of being in a community full of Judaism is awesome. I am Jewish and everyone around me here is too. This makes me extremely comfortable and makes me feel like I fit in at this camp. Personally, I go to public school so as you can imagine, there is a very little amount of Jews or people who also speak Hebrew. But here, there are so many of us!

Not only do we have an amazing community, but we also have Jewish education programs which is amazing because, let me tell you, there are a lot of people who don’t know much about what’s going on in Israel, or in the US for that matter, so it’s great to be able to learn and talk about this stuff.

We also have many fun activities, and the most exciting part personally is the fact that our counselors take so much time in order to surprise us campers every night with a fun activity. For example, the other night we had a real party, and it was so much fun! It was amazing, talking and hanging out at the pool. Ours goes from around 1 foot to 12 FEET! We also don’t need a swim cap thank god.

Plus, we have 2 volley ball nets on top of a sand area, and there are tennis, basketball, soccer, gaga, and many more courts that go on. TY is a huge camp, and I can’t even describe it. We are literally going on a hiking trip, and I bet if we had to walk around the whole camp it would be the same distance (just kidding camp is a little more than a mile!).

What I’m trying to say here is if you’re Jewish, and want to be surrounded by a whole community of Jews, then this place will be the best thing that’s ever happened to you.
