This session, for trip week I chose to go on the Tzilum (Photography) and Tzedek (Social Action) trip! During this trip, we had the opportunity to experience two different perspectives of New York City. We saw the artistic, awe-inspiring, and breathtaking view of the city as well as the unfortunate reality of poverty. With camp, we explored the city through an interactive graffiti art tour, a sculpture garden, the Brooklyn Bridge, and other inspiring sights. We made sure to take lots of pictures in order to express our creativity through photography.

We also volunteered at two different projects throughout our trip. We participated in Midnight Run, delivering food, clothing, and other necessities to those in need and living on the streets of New York. We also visited the offices of Dorot, a non-profit organization making a difference in elderly care. The gratitude of those in need moved me and changed my perspective of others and myself. Our trip created new bonds, many memories, and made my summer more memorable.
